Supporting India

WAGE - International is happy to work with the 'Rainbow Homes Program' at Loreto Sealdah, Kolkata, India, which seeks to integrate girls of diverse socio-economic backgrounds toward the common goal of breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering through education.

We work with the school by connecting our volunteers with the school, and by adopting projects in consultation with the school personnel.

In the summer of 2022, we hosted our first remote learning program with the schools in eastern India. The pilot program for the Rainbow Program focused on wellness, conversation, song and friendship. Our plan is to re-engage with the program in 2023.

To get involved in any of the WAGE - International supported projects in the Rainbow Program, please send us an email expressing your interest.

Christian Medical College

Development in the Jawadhi Hills Region of Tamil Nadu, India.

CMC’s Community and Health Department (CHAD) has been building model villages in the Jawadhi Hills, which have been a huge success and an example for the rest of the country – a true testament to the Healing Ministry of Christ through CMC. The care being shown to the residents of the Jawadhi Hills since the 1980s is an extension of the "Roadside Clinics" started by Dr. Ida Scudder more than a 100 years ago.

In mid-2021, WAGE partnered with the CMC Foundation in part to support CMC’s new project to build a maternity & emergency obstetric and neonatal care hospital in the Jawadhi Hills Region of Tamil Nadu, India.

In early February 2023, it was announced that they will be supporting a fourth new model village in their pursuit to build sustainable communities among the indigenous population of South India.

Breaking ground is expected to happen in 2023! Stay tuned for more updates soon!
